Three arraigned for assaulting Kaduna Electric staff

 

Three suspects have been arraigned before the Upper Sharia Court II of Unguwan Dallatu Gusau, Zamfara State, for assaulting staff of Kaduna Electric.

The three accused persons; Babangida Aliyu (27yrs), Aminu Lawali ( 26yrs) and Sibiwahi Muazu (24yrs) were arraigned by Police Prosecutor, Hamisu Ibrahim Gusau.

They were accused of

conspiring to brutalize Kaduna Electric staff who were discharging  their duties at Tashan Magami Gusau in contravention of Section 123, 242, 380 and 140 of Zamfara State Sharia Penal Code.

The accused persons who were arraigned before Justice Usman Hassan Gumi denied the charges against them.

In his ruling,  Justice Usman Hassan Gumi stated that final judgment shall be delivered after a thorough analysis and adjudication of the facts of the matter as presented.

He denied the bail application of the accused persons who would therefore be remanded for two weeks without the option of fine.

He further assigned the Police Prosecutor to present a witness on the next sitting.

While commenting on the matter, Kaduna Electric’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi said the company maintains a zero tolerance for any sort of violence or aggression against its staff and would do everything possible to ensure the full wrath of the law is meted on perpetrators.
