The facilities and prisons, located in the heart of Sambisa Forest, was discovered by troops of the Special Forces Brigade and Battalions in Maiduguri.
PRNigeria reported that the facilities built with huge iron locks, and hooks, are used for torturing innocent civilians and imprisoning of servicemen abducted on the highways, by terrorists in the North East.
There are separate cells and torture rooms where convicted and erring insurgents fighters who committed various crimes were held hostage and tortured.
There is also a separate facility for abducted humanitarian and government workers who would later be released when huge ransom are paid.
The terrorists within Sambisa Forest and Timbuktu Triangle, who hardly engage in farming activities, due to the intensified counter insurgency campaign by military troop, used the proceed from their kidnappings to buy logistics, food, fuel, weapons, and urea fertilisers for bomb making, as well as motorcycles to aid their terror campaign.
