CITAD hosts 4th Kano Social Influencers Summit

The 4th Kano Social Influencers Summit #KanSIS23 got underway in the ancient city Wednesday Ocyober 24 2023 at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University.

The executive director of CITAD, YZ Yau in his opening remarks said #KanSIS23 like it’s three previous ones would be an avenue for promoting ideas and inspiring the young and the old towards a better future.He reviewed the progress made and commended the various tertiary institutions in the city and others for their partnership with CITAD.MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, Lenovo, APC(not political party) among others were recognised. In a similar vein, Chairman of the CITAD Board, Prof Amina Kaidal welcomed the guests.

Kano State Commissioner for Information, Malam Halilu Dantiye MON, mni, declared the event open.He assured CITAD of continued partnership.

The Africa Director of MacArthur Foundation, Dr Kole Shettima, who joined the meeting virtually praised the efforts of CITAD for sustaining the Summit.He equally commended the partners working with CITAD for the “incredibly important” work they are doing.

Participants at #KanSIS23 easily noticed the heavy presence of the youths.Of particular note was the array of innovations exhibited by various youngsters alike.

The first day was characterised by lectures and parallel sessions where topical issues were examined.Some of the lecturers included Malam Bala Muhammed of BUK and Chido Onuma of AFRICMIL.

Some of the dignitaries present included Eng C.O Ironmatu, Alhaji (Dr) Bashir Albishir Bukar Machina, OON, Emir of Machina and several Social influencers among others.
