Edo Govt Beset By Predicaments: “No hiding place for the wicked” – APC Campaign

Prince Kassim Afegbua, Media Consultant, Edo APC Campaign Organization, has expressed dismay over what he described as maladministration of the state by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Afegbua sympathized with the PDP-led government in Edo state under the grip of Governor Obaseki for what he termed as the halitosis that has afflicted the atmosphere of Benin City and other parts of the state.

He therefore stressed that Gov. Obaseki has finished Edo state, adding that heads will roll.

He said,”We sympathise with the PDP-led government in Edo state under the grip of Governor Obaseki for all the halitosis that has afflicted the atmosphere of Benin City and elsewhere, and all we can say is that there is no hiding place for the wicked.

“When driving through Benin City, all we can see are vestiges of failure and hurried approach to fix a few infrastructure just to convince the people that the government has suddenly realised its failure. They have been asleep, snoring away in their vainglorious cesspool of corruption and subterfuge. They converted the state into a Private Limited Company, manned by Obaseki’s Pecuniary Delight Party-PDP.

“We asked them to provide explications for the litany of fraud and corruption they have perpetrated, but they respond with parrying skimming and diversionary pedestrian talk. My school teacher used to say, “ answer the question, my friend!” They now clutch at just anything to remain afloat.

“When you look at their visage, you can easily see guilt boldly written in their cold eyes; with dubious frowns and pyrrhic smile, while lamenting the state of the nation, seemingly blind to the rot they have generated in the state. Their thought process seems to be sabotaged by the lake of fat that has drowned their faculties.

“Now they are in a fix, the APC now has live wires documents to establish the verity of their claims. It’s like; “how did the APC get wind of those documents. Heads will roll”. Governor Obaseki has finished the state. In 2023 alone, records in the Accountant General’s office show that Edo state received N103b from the Federation Account alone, not mentioning the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). In 2024, the sum of N10b has been allocated to Edo state as signature bonus, while the sum of N7b was also allocated to the State for security. With all of these allocations and revenue that accrued to the State, one can hardly see what the Obaseki’s Pecuniary Delight Party has done.”

Afegbua pointed out that the Benin City metropolis is strangled by environmental pollution, flooding, and erosion, adding that the roads are in a parlous state.

“The health care infrastructure is nothing to write home about. All you see when you visit Benin, are briefcase business executives from Lagos, lodged in the Protea Hotel during their stints in the city; they feed fat on Edo’s collective patrimony, they’ve become so corpulent that they end up at the gym of the hotel weighing down the equipment and pushing them fast to zero depreciation.

“They have literarily relocated the headquarters of Governor Obaseki’s company; Afri-Invest to Protea Hotel, Benin to facilitate the plundering of our state resources. Every kobo of Edo’s money stolen by anyone, no matter how highly placed, will be recovered. That is a solemn vow we have made as we are set to relaunch Edo state on the path of prosperity and harmony once again. Senator Monday Okpebholo has been working for Edo people before now.

“He will continue to do good for Edo people. He will change the polluted air in Edo state that is currently poignant and benumbing. Edo people deserve a breath of fresh air. Come 21 September 2024 Obaseki and his shadows must go!!! APC IS THE CHOICE. SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO IS THE MAN TO VOTE FOR,” he stated.

He added,”Obaseki and his cronies shouted to the roof top that the Federal High Court’s verdict invalidating their primary election process did not obliterate their selected candidate, but sneaked to the Appeal Court secretly, to file an appeal. Why tell lies on a matter as simple as invalidation. They continue in their new adventure of building an industry of lies with skyscrapers of corruption. Lies, deceits, profligacy, financial malfeasance, deep-seated corruption and shady deals is the hallmark of Obaseki’s government.

“In desperation to continue the orgy of corruption and fraud, Governor Obaseki is ready to break the bank to produce a successor. There is nothing good in Obaseki, and nothing good can come from him.

“He is an aggregate and manifestation of all human flaws put together in one. Edo people, be savvy; you are very enlightened. Push your aggressors away! Vote for APC!!! VOTE FOR SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO!!! HE IS THE MAN WE CAN TRUST!!!.”
