SANWO-OLU CELEBRATES REUBEN ABATI AT 60
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Dr. Reuben Abati, a veteran journalist, television anchor and Special Adviser on Media to former President Goodluck Jonathan, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described Reuben Abati as a respected columnist, journalist and public analyst who has become a role model to professionals in the media industry.
He said Reuben Abati, who is a household name in the media industry, and the entire country, especially as a respected newspaper columnist before becoming a television anchor, has used his skill and position to bring positive change to the society through his views and comments on public issues.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also praised Abati, a one-time Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Guardian, for his impactful contribution to the growth and development of the media industry, politics and Nigeria.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate a respected newspaper columnist and television anchor on Arise TV, Dr Reuben Abati, on his Diamond Jubilee celebration.
“Dr Reuben Abati is a veteran journalist, respected columnist, courageous television anchor, accomplished public intellectual and patriotic commentator. He has made immense contributions to the media industry, public discourse, politics and governance in Nigeria.
“As Dr. Reuben Abati celebrates his 60th birthday, I pray that God will increase him in good health to enable him to render more service to humanity, the media industry and Nigeria,” he prayed.
