Team Spirit triumphs as Julius Berger, subsidiaries wrap up annual sports tournament in grand style

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has successfully concluded its annual Sports Tournament, a flagship employee engagement initiative that brought together staff and subsidiaries in a spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.

The keenly contested tournament featured a variety of games including football, volleyball, chess, snooker, table tennis, and scrabble, all aimed at promoting teamwork, employee wellness, and corporate bonding.

The opening football match saw the Julius Berger Headquarters Team edge past the Plant and Equipment Department  with a thrilling 3–2 victory, while AFP claimed victory over ABUMET in the second match.

In a statement at the closing ceremony, the management commended all participants for their passion, discipline, and sportsmanship, emphasizing that the annual tournament embodies Julius Berger’s commitment to fostering collaboration, excellence, and well-being among its workforce.

The tournament reached an exciting conclusion with the presentation of cash prizes and recognition awards to outstanding performers and winning teams across multiple categories. Here are the final rankings based on the Sports Tournament: Chess game results, PrimeTech Team came 3rd, AFP Team Took the 2nd place, while JB Headquarters Team came 1st.

Sports contested in were, Snooker, Table Tennis, , Scrabble, Volleyball and Football among others. For snooker game results Region Central North Team came 3rd place, Abumet Team took the 2nd place, while JB Headquarters Team came 1st. The Table Tennis results had ABUMET Team take the 3rd place, Plant and Equipment Department Team came in 2nd place, while Abuja Real Estate/JBMS Team came 1st place. Scrabble game results had PrimeTech Team take the 3rd place, Plant and Equipment Department Team came in 2nd, while ABUMET Team came in as 1st place. Abumet Team came in 3rd place for the Volleyball game, Plant and Equipment Department Team 2nd place, and AFP Team taking 1st place. In the football match, AFP Team finished in first place, Abumet Team in 2nd place, and JB Headquarters Team  in 3rd Place.

Across all categories, employees displayed not just skill, but also the camaraderie and collaborative spirit that make Julius Berger a united workforce.

Cash prizes were shared across categories including football, volleyball, chess, scrabble, snooker, and table tennis with the company also presenting awards for the overall winner, Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer and MVP of the Tournament

The 2025 edition of the Julius Berger Sports Tournament once again reflected the company’s enduring values of teamwork, dedication, and excellence qualities that define Julius Berger’s culture both on and off the field.
